What comes with your game.
Account and player profile
Account identifiers, sign-in provider, name, email address, handle and the profile details you provide. These can include a phone number, profile photo, handicap, home course and preferences. Apple or Google supplies the information allowed by your sign-in settings.
Golf records and activity
Courses and tees, rounds, scores, putts, guest player names and scores, recorded shots and their coordinates and times, club distances, bag details, favourites, notes and imported launch-monitor measurements. We also handle follow connections, shared round activity and reactions.
Location
With device permission, location is used to find courses and show your position and distances. During an active round, GPS can continue while your iPhone is locked. Location can be stored with shots, used for in-round advice and shared through live round features described below.
Messages, photos and support
Buddy messages and responses, conversation history, relevant saved memories, photos you choose to upload and information you send to support. Photo features include your player card and extracting club or launch-monitor information from images. Photos may show a face or other personal details.
Device and technical information
Device platform, notification tokens, network request information and service diagnostics. Logs can include account identifiers, round and location context, and the content of AI messages and responses. They are not limited to anonymous error counts.
Apple Watch and Health
If you use the Watch companion and grant permission, it can write a golf workout to Apple Health. The current workout integration does not request access to read your Health records or heart-rate history. Manage this permission in Apple Health.
Why the information is used.
We use personal information to provide sign-in, save your golf records, deliver maps and distances, personalise Buddy responses, operate social round features, manage connections and answer support requests.
Where the GDPR applies, processing necessary to provide a service you request may rely on performance of a contract. Optional permissions and analytics cookies rely on consent where required. Security, troubleshooting and service administration may rely on legitimate interests, balanced against your rights. We may also process information to meet legal obligations.
You can decline optional device permissions or withdraw them later in Settings. Features that depend on that permission may then be unavailable. An operating-system permission is not a blanket permission for unrelated use of your information.
Keep sensitive information out of Buddy.
Notes or messages about an injury or a health condition may be saved and included in later AI context. Avoid sending medical details or other sensitive information that is not needed for your golf question.
How your Buddy gets context.
Anthropic processes Buddy questions and relevant context to generate responses. Depending on the feature, that context can include recent conversation, profile and preferences, golf notes, bag measurements, imported stats, and your course, hole, position and weather.
The service can summarise your golf information into saved memories for future conversations. Conversation and memory data can be stored in your account as well as on your device.
Photos submitted for club or launch-monitor extraction are processed by Anthropic. Player-card photos are sent to Anthropic for moderation and to Replicate for background removal. Original and processed player-card images are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage; changing a photo does not necessarily erase older versions.
These features involve processing outside your phone. Do not include another person’s private information in a message or photo unless you are entitled to share it.
Bring your golf data with you.
TrackMan
If you connect TrackMan, the app signs in with TrackMan and keeps its connection credentials in protected device storage. Imported profile, activity, shot, round and club information is sent to Brigands and saved for your stats and Buddy context.
Disconnecting removes the connection but does not automatically erase data already imported into Brigands.
Golf.nl, where available
If you link Golf.nl, Brigands uses the supplied credentials to establish the connection and stores an encrypted session token with relevant membership and golf details. If you choose to submit a scorecard, the round and marker details needed for that submission are sent to Golf.nl, and a submission record is retained.
Use the unlink action to remove the connection. Removing a connection does not reverse a scorecard already submitted to an external service.
Your visit to the website.
If you use a signup or claim form, we collect the details you submit, such as your first name, email, chosen handle, interests and course. The form may also record the referring page and browser information. Reserved handles or course claims can appear publicly in those features.
The marketing pages use Google Analytics with Consent Mode. Analytics cookie storage starts as denied unless you previously accepted. Google’s script can still load and receive cookieless signals before acceptance or after you decline. Declining analytics cookies does not mean that no requests are sent to Google.
Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under brigands_consent. It stays there until you change the choice or clear site data. Use Cookie settings to accept or decline again. Changing your choice does not undo earlier processing or automatically clear cookies already in your browser; those can be removed through your browser’s settings.
Some marketing pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which requires a connection to Google. The privacy, support and legal pages use locally hosted fonts and do not load Google Analytics themselves.
What stays in your account.
Account details, rounds, shots, bag information, messages, memories and imported measurements are stored to provide your history and personalised features. They do not disappear when you sign out or uninstall the app. Archived notes, previous player-card images and imported provider data can remain stored.
There is currently no single automatic expiry across all personal data. Shared recaps can remain after a round finishes; do not assume that all location records expire when a live session ends.
Retention decisions need to consider the purpose of each record, whether your account remains active, your deletion request, security needs and applicable legal requirements. Access, correction and deletion requests can be made through support.
Before publication: the operator must confirm and document retention periods or clear criteria for account data, support messages, logs, provider records and backups, including the deletion process. This draft does not establish an automatic purge or a completion deadline.
Processing locations and security
Brigands uses cloud and AI services that can process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. We do not represent all processing as taking place in the EU. Account authentication, access rules and protected credentials are used to limit access, but no service can guarantee absolute security.
Before publication: verify the deployed processing locations, provider agreements and safeguards for international transfers. Do not treat this draft as confirmation that those arrangements are already in place.
Have a say in your data.
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access and receive a copy of your personal information, correct it, request deletion, restrict processing, object to certain processing and request portability of information you provided.
Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Device permissions can be changed in Settings; website analytics choices can be changed using Cookie settings.
Contact hello@brigands.gg with your request and Brigands handle. We may need information to verify that you are the account holder. Do not send passwords, verification codes or identity documents unless a necessary verification method has first been agreed.
You can complain to your local data protection authority. In the Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
When things change.
Changes to the service or its data handling may require this notice to be updated. The published policy will show its effective date. Material changes requiring additional notice or consent will need to be communicated as required by applicable law.
For questions about this notice, visit support. Operator and ownership information belongs on our legal page.
